Public Asset Corporations Playbook
- Task Force Publications
The National Housing Crisis Task Force, in partnership with our partners at Accelerator for America and Propvizer, has released a Public Asset Corporations Playbook to serve as a how-to guide for cities and states looking to build their own Public Asset Corporation. Public Asset Corporations provide cities and states with solutions to build capacity and financing to turn underused sites (e.g., land, existing buildings, etc.), typically already owned by the public sector, into mixed-income housing developments.
This Playbook features “lessons from the field” from the Atlanta Urban Development Corporation, Invest Chattanooga, the Ireland Land Development Agency, and The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority – all existing Public Asset Corporations in the field today.
Along with the Playbook itself, the Task Force also produced a Public Asset Corporations Two-Pager for a quick breakdown of why these entities can be a great tool for cities and states to create new affordable housing.
