Chanell Hasty is an accomplished economic and international development professional with nearly 20 years of experience working in the public sector implementing high-impact programs. Her experience spans policy and advocacy work at the global health organization Management Sciences for Health – field work in Guatemala with the social justice organization the Network in Solidarity with the People of Guatemala – being a staffer on Capitol Hill on the House Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, and Human Rights – foundation experience with the Rockefeller and Open Society Foundations – being an entrepreneur in founding a youth and workforce development organization, Fashion Redefining Justice – and delving into community and economic development at the International Economic Development Council, the National League of Cities, and now at Accelerator for America. Ms. Hasty graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Affairs in 2004. After graduating from Spelman, she pursued her graduate studies at Seton Hall University’s John C. Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations with specializations in International Law and International Organizations. Chanell also has a certificate in Fashion Styling from the Fashion Institute of Technology, and recently gained her certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Public Managers from Rutgers University Center for Executive Leadership in Government.
