Former U.S. Congressman Ben McAdams is the founder and CEO of the Common Ground Institute, which supports jurisdictions working to create revenue and other public benefits from government-owned real estate through public-private partnerships. He leads the Putting Public Assets to Work Incubator, working with jurisdictions across the U.S. to support their development of public asset management strategies.
From 2009 through 2020, McAdams served as a Member of the United States Congress, a Utah State Senator, and Mayor of Salt Lake County, where he represented 1.1 million constituents and balanced a budget of $1.2 billion.
