Anne Bovaird Nevins (Tampa, FL), Director of Economic Development, leads AFA’s work in economic and community development for cities across the country, including direct technical assistance through the U.S. DOT Thriving Communities program and HUD Distressed Cities program in collaboration with LISC. Prior to joining AFA in January 2023, Anne led economic development for the City of Philadelphia as the President of PIDC, the city’s economic development organization, and its CDFI subsidiary, PIDC Community Capital. Anne spent 16 years with PIDC and stewarded the organization through the pandemic. Over 65% of the COVID-19 small business relief dollars through PIDC were delivered to BIPOC-owned businesses. Previously, Anne held leadership roles within PIDC and other non-profit organizations and served as Co-Chair of the Racism and Economic Development committee of the International Economic Development Council.
